Connecting Pickers & Growers
Every year you can see trees with fruit rotting on the ground. Fruits and vegetables that don’t get picked go to waste. Our website helps connect pickers and growers to help prevent food waste and feed hungry people for free.

FREE Fruits & Vegetables
We help connect people who have gardens or fruit trees with extra produce that they don't want to go to waste during the harvest season with people who want to come and pick to help feed themselves, their family, friends and neighbors or donate to a food bank, school or other program.

1. INDIVIDUAL PICKERS & GROWERS: We create quick connections between individuals and families who want to pick and individuals who have 1 or more fruit trees or a garden with extra produce.
2. DONATION ORGANIZATIONS & PEOPLE: We help people find donation organizations to give part of what they pick to as well as donation people who may be disabled or unable to pick that you can search for in your area to take a bag of produce to that would really appreciate it.
3. CREATING GROUPS: Picker & Grower groups can be created easily from existing groups like schools, churches, sports teams and others to join together to grow and pick fruits and vegetables with people they know and want to support. Non-Profit organizations can also create groups on the Share the Harvest website and create a link to it from their website.
4. FARMS & ORCHARDS: In addition to individuals who have gardens and fruit trees we also have ways to use Share the Harvest to work with commercial farms and orchards for picking produce. Our program where companies rent fruit trees or vegetable acreage for groups and non-profits to pick with multiple pickings during the season is amazing as well.
HARVESTING COSTS: 60% of farming costs are picking, sorting, packing, storage and transportation. An additional 40% is lost when selling wholesale. The cost of farming is reduced to the cost of growing the fruits and vegetables when people come and pick, pack and transport the produce for free.
RENT A TREE STORY: A man who owned an orange orchard rented each tree to a different family who got to pick all the fruit from it for the season and he made more money than paying harvesting costs and selling at wholesale.
COMPANY CHARITY GIVING: Transportation of the produce costs less as it is local and goes direct to consumers which also makes it fresher. Companies can get a lot for their charity money by renting fruit trees from orchards or acreage from vegetable farms to let non-profits and groups come and pick for free. This program also helps farmers income.
